Total Cost of Operation (TCO+)

Helping you find the right vehicles for your fleet needs

Our game-changing TCO+ analysis

We know it can be difficult to find the optimal vehicles for your fleet needs. Even if you have time to analyse predicted costs, you may find the results don’t match up with what actually happens when you use the vehicles.

This is where our systematic TCO+ (Total Cost of Operation) tool can make a real difference. Our consultants will use it to create a much more complete picture of each vehicle’s actual performance.

What TCO+ offers

The tool starts with standard TCO elements such as rental costs, mileage and tax – but it then goes much further. It looks at how vehicles perform physically, operationally and financially. This includes elements such as at off the road costs and the reliability of different vehicles based on their performance records.

The result is a detailed analysis that can help you make decisions for the future, from predicting the impacts of extending leases to looking at how fleet decisions may affect downtime costs. It can even help you identify your most suitable vehicles, powertrain and infrastructure requirements, thanks to a more in-depth and realistic total cost of ownership figure.

A detailed analysis supported by specialists

We have a straightforward process for using our TCO+ tool that involves you working closely with our in-house fleet consultancy team and fleet maintenance team:

  1. The first step is to understand how you use your current vehicles.

  2. We look at over 30 parameters to hone your requirements, from payload and load length to fuel type, filtering out any vehicles unsuitable for your needs.

  3. This results in a specific list of vehicles suitable for your operational and financial requirements.

  4. We then analyse location data (ideally using your own telematics) to map out key locations for your business in terms of where the vehicles operate.

  5. We use this location data to predict how different dealership networks will perform for your specific needs, including any dealerships your drivers may find it difficult to get vehicles to.

  6. We also combine this with downtime data to highlight dealerships with poor track records for getting vehicles back on the road.

  7. In addition, we can identify what infrastructure requirements there may be if you want to move towards a greener electric fleet.
