MOT booking
Most drivers are so familiar with MOTs that it’s easy to forget just how important they are. But if your vehicle needs an MOT and you don’t have one, you cannot legally drive it. If you drive it anyway, you could get fined and your insurance may not be valid.
With Ayvens, there are two ways to arrange MOTs, depending on whether you have a with maintenance agreement or without maintenance agreement.
Just contact our team to arrange your MOT. You can do this with our online form or by calling our Driverline on 0345 250 0000. This is also the number to use if you ever need more help.
Do let us know at this point if you have any other requirements, such as special assistance or while-you-wait MOTs.
Once it’s all booked in, we will:
- contact you by text or email to confirm the details.
- work with the garage or MOT testing centre on your behalf to set everything up
- track the progress of your MOT and keep you informed if there are any queries or delays
Not sure if you have our maintenance service on your lease? Just check your contract or speak to your fleet manager.
You’ll need to arrange your MOT yourself. As with services, you can take it to any main dealer, independent garage or MOT test centre as long as:
- They are a VAT-registered business.
- They use manufacturer-approved parts (if they carry out work)
- They provide paperwork detailing the work carried out. (You will need to hang on to this and may be required to return it with the vehicle when your contract ends.)
A few tips for an easier MOT
Remember that you can book an MOT up to three months before the due date.
We recommend booking at least four weeks before the due date to make sure you get an appointment.
Keep in mind that tyres are one of the main reasons that vehicles fail an MOT, so it’s worth checking them a few weeks before the test. If they need replacing, contact our tyre service.
