Nissan started life in 1911 under the name Kwaishinsha Motor Car Works. The company produced its first car three years later and named it after its three investing partners’ surnames- DAT. Both the car and the company underwent name changes, and in the 50s Nissan Motor Company began expanding worldwide with its 'Datsun'. Sixty years later, the innovative company introduced the world’s first mass-produced, zero emission, 100% electric vehicle, Nissan Leaf. Today, the company is the world's largest manufacturer of electric vehicles (EV) and is as committed to innovation and the environment as ever.
