How can we help you?
According to Luxembourg legislation, the minimum tread of tyres is 1.6 mm. Therefore, you should regularly check the condition of your tires (tread and tire pressure). Under-inflation leads to longer braking distances, an increased risk of aquaplaning, faster wear and tear, and higher fuel consumption.
If your tyres are worn out and you want to have them replaced, you can make an appointment at an Ayvens authorised tyre centre. The tyre centre will confirm the appointment and Ayvens will pay the invoice.
Variable road surface conditions: dry roads, rain, wet roads, heavy surface water, fresh snow, sleet, ice, frozen snow, etc. Lower temperatures (below 7°C) mean that the rubber in summer tyres is much less effective on winter roads. Safety: better grip on dry and wet roads at low temperatures, better grip on snow and ice, shorter braking distances.
Your safety is important to Ayvens. All-season tires have a longer braking distance, both summer and winter, than summer and winter tires. That's why we only allow winter and summer tires if the tires are included in your contract.
If you are not sure if you can continue to drive safely or if your vehicle is immobilised, call Ayvens Assistance on +352 29 82 29.
If necessary, we will send a technician who:
- repair the tire;
- Perform a temporary repair so you can safely get to a tire centre
- will tow the vehicle and offer you a replacement vehicle. If you can still drive the vehicle, you can go to an Ayvens approved tyre centre.
Vehicles always come with summer tires. After delivery, you can make an appointment with the tyre centre to have the winter tyres fitted if they are included in your rental contract.
Winter tires can be added to your contract if your employer agrees.
In Luxembourg, it is not mandatory to drive with winter tyres. However, outside of Luxembourg, several countries stipulate that winter tyres must be fitted in winter conditions such as snow or ice.
You have two options for transferring the tyres: you can pick up the tyres yourself from the centre where they are stored and take them to another centre. In this case, you must tell us which centre you are taking them to, so that we can inform both centres. If you do not provide us with this information, the tires will not be released or accepted.
A second option is to have the tires transported. If your employer agrees in writing to the transportation costs, we can start the case. Keep in mind that waiting times can be up to a month.
If winter tyres are included in your contract, you can have them fitted from 1 October. We recommend that you make an appointment in good time. As soon as the first cold weather or snowflakes arrive, there are so many requests that waiting times are usually long. It is therefore necessary to quickly contact the tyre centre that stores your tyres. If you've acquired a vehicle and don't know where its winter tires are stored, you can find the location of the latest tire center on the My driver app.
