Tips for fast charging
- Most car manufacturers only provide the maximum charging speed for their car models. This speed is often only achievable under ideal conditions and the actual charging speed will often be lower.
- If you are going on a long drive, remember to charge your car as much as possible before starting your journey. This way, you will have a longer time before you need to recharge, and when you do need to recharge, the battery will have had time to warm up. Especially in winter, a cold battery will fast charge at a lower speed than a warm battery. Some car models have the option for battery preheating, which will increase the charging speed.
- You will get the highest charging speed when you charge the battery when it is below 20%.
- For efficient charging, stop charging when you reach 80% power on the battery. Charging above 80% will decrease the charging speed to preserve the battery and some charging companies charge a higher price for charging above 80%.
