End of your lease contract: what you need to know

When your lease contract with Ayvens comes to an end, you have three options: returning your lease car, extending the contract, or buy your lease car. Each choice has its pros and cons.

Returning your lease car

When your lease contract ends you can return your current lease car and hopefully lease a new one with us!. Returning your lease car is a simple process, designed for your convenience. Here are the three steps to guide you through the return process:

Make a return appointment
- Register your return by filling out our digital return form. You can do this no earlier than 4 weeks before the end date of your lease and no later than the day the lease expires. If you wait to register your return, the contract will not be terminated until the date we receive the requested information, regardless of whether it is after the scheduled end of the contract.
- Your employer may have specific instructions for the return, so please also refer to your car policy or fleet manager for any instructions.

- Make sure the car is clean, both externally and internally
- Clear out personal belongings, ensuring the car is free of your items.
- Remove personal data from the navigation and phone systems.
- If applicable, disconnect any "connected car" apps.
- Ensure all keys, official documents, and accessories are ready for handover.

- An independent inspector will inspect the car according to our guidelines.
- Damage is separated from normal wear and tear and documented with text and images.
- An inspection report is drawn up and stored.

Extending your lease contract

Benefits of extending

Extending your contract not only ensures you continue driving your trusted car but can also bring several advantages:

Keep driving your current car. We know people can grow to love their current car and want to drive it for a bit longer. This is possible by extending your contract.
Extension of tax benefits. Depending on your car and when you started leasing it, you may continue to benefit from taxation policies that were in place at the time you started leasing your car.

To extend your lease, you need to contact us and tell us the current odometer reading of your car in kilometers, as well as the number of months you want to extend the lease. You should also indicate the expected odometer reading at the end of the extension. The shortest possible extension is 6 months. Please note that you also need the approval of your fleet manager before the extension can be implemented.
