Volvo — pioneers in quality and safety

Volvo is Latin for ‘I roll’, and that’s what this Swedish heritage brand has let its drivers do since producing the first Volvo car in 1927. The men who founded Volvo set out to build high-quality cars that could withstand Sweden’s rough roads and cold temperatures. Pushing for quality still applies to every facet of Volvo's business and they are widely regarded as pioneers in car safety. The Swedes are also firmly future-focused as the first major premium car brand to commit to a hybrid or full-electric powertrain for all models.
