Operational Risk Officer

Do you have passion for non-financial risk management and would you like to be part of the story in building our regional operational risk function? We are now looking for an Operational Risk Officer (2nd line) to join our Regional Center of Expertise and Non-Financial Risk team in an international leasing company.

About the role

This position is new and a great opportunity for an experienced risk expert in banking sector. The role is part of Ayvens Regional Centre of Expertise (2nd line) located in Vantaa, Finland. Operational Risk Officer provides effective independent oversight and monitoring of non-financial risks across the Nordic countries and assesses and reports all operational and business risks in close collaboration with the colleagues in the non-financial risk team.

In this role, your main responsibility areas are:
 

  • Operational risks: Assess, quantify, challenge, and monitor operational risks, train the organization on the management of risks and advice on policies and actions related to each operational risk type.
  • Internal Controls framework: Bringing our Internal Control Framework with respect to operational risk management to a next level, driving process and control improvements, bringing risks within appetite.
  • Internal Control awareness: Proposing solutions/improvements and initiating Control Framework related actions and provide input for training to embed across Ayvens.
  • Process improvements: Proposing solutions/improvements to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.

 Your key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and supporting the adaptation of the central policies and procedures to local regulation and monitor the implementation of Ayvens’ Operational Risk framework locally
  • Collaborating with all relevant stakeholders involved in the control and monitoring of the operational risks
  • Oversee reporting and ensuring meeting of deadlines to the Central-based Operational Risk Team.
  • Challenging and guiding relevant stakeholders on topics related to operational risks to create awareness and a sense of responsibility for risk owners in the business

To qualify for the role:

You are a people person with strong communication skills that makes you adequate to communicate across various levels within the Group. You are an excellent analyst and critical thinker with a strong drive to identify solutions.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have experience with the full scope of risk management practices and techniques including experience in the development and implementation of risk policies (preferably in the banking industry)
  • Bring a bachelor’s / master’s degree in e.g. business or technology/finance related field
  • Have knowledge about Operational risks including a very good understanding of current requirements in Operational risks management and governance.
  • Proactive and eager to explore and learn new things
  • Speak and write English and knowledge of one of the Scandinavian languages is an advantage.

Compensation depends on the experience and background of the candidate, start level is 4000 euros. We also offer a good bonus program.
