Benefits of switching to electric
As you may have heard, there’s a lot to like about EVs. They’re:
- Good for the environment, thanks to zero tailpipe emissions
- Good for your wallet, as they tend to be cheaper to ‘refuel’ and have some attractive tax breaks
- Good to drive, as they are quieter, smoother and tend to accelerate better
Incentives
Low benefit-in-kind tax rates make electric company cars very attractive. BIK rates increase by 1 percentage point every April, but incentives for ultra-low emission vehicles will be in place until 2028. You can also see the available financial support for electric cars using the link below.
Fuel costs

Convenience
Charge at home overnight and every morning you’ll have a full battery. Alternatively, if you can charge at work, there's no benefit-in-kind tax on topping up your battery.
Clean air zones
More and more clean air zones are being introduced – and at the moment, electric vehicles are exempt from all charges.Â
